Inpatient Versus Outpatient Rehab

There are different types of rehab offered to recovering addicts in the San Diego area and across the United States. Some cases are inevitably worse than others, and these cases often require more time and attention. Regardless of the severity of the case, though, drug addiction is a deadly disease that should be treated seriously.

For severe drug addiction cases, specialists suggest the individual attend inpatient rehab. When easing off of a substance, long-term addicts experience a rather painful withdrawal experience that is easier to undergo with professional aid and supervision. Often times, if the addiction is severe enough, rehab centers give patients small doses of their vice to avoid the unpleasant results of going cold turkey. It is also proven to be effective for long-term addicts to visit a different state to attend rehab.

For minor addictions, which most commonly associated with alcohol abuse, specialists in San Diego and across the nation suggest outpatient rehab treatment. Although patients are required to attend treatment every day, they are given the freedom to go home each night. This type of treatment is generally more affordable, but there are many impatient rehabs that are affordable, too.

If you or a loved on is living a life dominated by substance abuse, visit a drug rehab center in San Diego or a location that best suits you before it’s too late.
