We are proud to give back to those who gave so much and feel it’s our duty at Miramar Recovery to help our nation’s heroes who are struggling with addiction. If you are a veteran, we can help you start your path to long-term recovery.
We salute your service and are here to serve you with addiction recovery solutions specific to your needs as a military veteran. Sacrifices often don’t end when you take off your uniform. Changes in the pace of life, environment, and status affect you as a veteran as you readjust into society after your service to the nation. We know veterans experience lingering trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, from long deployments, combat experiences, and post-deployment challenges. All of that can lead to substance use disorder. And we can help.
Miramar Recovery is a contracted community care provider for the Department of Veterans Affairs through TriWest. The same facilities and treatment available to our patients with top-tier private health insurance is available to our Veteran clients at little or no cost to them.
The owner of Miramar Recovery is a veteran, and he takes a personal interest in every veteran that comes through our doors. We understand and appreciate the sacrifices involved in military service. Our founder, Tom Sauer, served in the Navy bomb squad for over a decade as a special operations officer. He understands what it means to serve on the frontlines and has close friends who struggled with addiction. He is a VA patient himself and seen the impact addiction has on the veteran community. Our veterans-first approach is a leading pillar of our recovery network and is recognized in all addiction recovery programs at each facility. Miramar’s team of specialized clinicians are well-versed in the realities of military life and here to support our veterans every step of the way on their road to reach long-term recovery goals.
Continuing case management is a process that manages client wellness. This is done using communication, education, and assisting of services.
Expert case managers coordinate all aspects of on-going care after the patient is discharged. The case manager will organize all resources in the client’s home area. They work closely with families to educate them on the client’s options and ensure they have the appropriate care plan. Case managers are constantly networking and building relationships to ensure the patient is going home with proper resources and services.
Approximately 11% of veterans are struggling with a substance use disorder. On average 17 service members take their own life every day, with many noting addiction as a significant contributing factor.
